We're All Neighbours

Horseplay records is a new label set up by Le Jockey to help raise the profile of the budding and talented producers that live in Cambridge. The main focus of the label is minimal house and techno but there are plans to start some sub-labels featuring more experimental electronic music. The first release by Le Jockey is available now and an EP featuring new artists signed to the label as well as a follow up release by Le Jockey is planned for release on March 12, 2007.

Le Jockey

Johnny Davies, or Le Jockey has been making waves recently with his unique sounding live sets. He brings a cross between minimal weirdness and thumping techno bass lines that makes the genre to which Jockey prescribes often hard to determine. One thing is for certain he is breaking waves and blasting dancefloors nationally. Le Jockeys inspiration comes from a huge spectrum of music. From classical to Detroit house he draws from it all and this comes out in his careful and precise production. His passion for making dance floors go crazy has been with him since he first stood behind a set of decks at the ripe old age of fourteen. He builds his sets with an excellent sense for the mood and uses this to drive people hard.

Recently minimal wizzard Mark-Henning has signed Le Jockey to his label Clever Music and Le Jockey has released a debut 12" on HorsePlay Records. Le Jockeys live sets can be heard in the forthcoming months around the country.
