Can anyone recommend a hairdressers?

Hi

New to the area and need to find a decent hairdresser who doesn't cost the earth. Someone recommended Scruffs but I'd need a second mortgage to fund a trip there. Cambridge/Ely/travelling distance from Histon/area.

Cheers

Code is just down the road from scruffs (town end of mill rd), and is a fair bit cheaper. they have one of those wicked massage chair things whilst you get your head groped (/washed). I've never been to the same place twice in cambridge as i only get cut about once every 8 months, but am actually planning on going back there. Time i booked in actually.

Thanks folks.

I probably should have stated that I'm female and looking for a 'modern' salon. I want a good hairdresser - just don't want to pay silly prices.

Thanks :p

All hairdressers are in the employment of the government.

Time Room at Next Gen gym (Coldhams Lane) isn't bad - there's usually enough parking - its a bit cheaper than Scruffs

can't remember the name off hand, but that one at the end of kings street, across the road from tatties us good and not too expensive as they go. I got a pretty funky haircut there once (my only ever fashionble haircut as it happens... ;)

actually yeah reeds is another one that has those vibro-chair things. AND they have pretty glowing colour-lights on the ceiling to stare at whilst the hairdresser girls grope your head. bliss.

hair.co.uk are good and they also don't witter on aimless shit about how your holiday was, they just cut your hair.

Great.

I've got to say this vibrating chair sounds irresistable!!!

I'd highly reccommend VIP hairdressers on Mill Road. Approx £26 for cut & blow dry. Pretty cheap for colours too. Really friendly bunch of people. I tried out a few hairdressers before I found one that I'm very happy with. I thought about Scruffs on Mill Road too but it's far too expensive, went to Toni & Guy's 3 times and had crap service every time and Nutters on Mill Road was the worst of them all!

I'm getting a little worried now... how many of you have Kajagoogoo style emo cuts?

cool

I have black hair with pink stripes, a couple ribbons, and one of those really cool star wars mini-ponytails.

There's one on burleigh street that does student discounts of about 15% I think Mon-Fri. I was really pleased with the cut- but no banter. I left feeling happy with my hair, but rejected 'cos she never chatted to me!
