[Event Chat] Club Goo vs Church Of Noise w/The Pistolas, Shameless, Pilots Of The Sixth - 06/07

This is idle chat about the event...
Club Goo with The Pistolas + Shameless + Pilots Of The Sixth
Friday 6th Jul 2007 | Venue: The Junction 1
Price: £6 adv | Time: 10pm - 2.30am | View event details

New one announced. Slightly later opening, as opening at 9 was proving kinda pointless. The Pistolas have been great the last few times they've played cambridge and it'll be good to see TTG through a fucking big PA. If James TTG complains about the volume there i will poke his ears with a large stick. It's also Andy TTG's birthday, so it should get messy...George is back for this one too, so the DJ set should feature all the new stuff with a decent chunk of classics to keep the drunker punters happy :-)

Cheap tickets on sale monday.

Yeah it's church of noise. Well spotted. I'll change the heading

In fact its the only place to enjoy Church of Noise at the moment as we are on holiday from the Kambar til Sept, so make sure to get yer monthly dose or rock by joining us at the Junction.

Also, I know it was aeons ago but check out www.churchofnoise.com over the weekend to view last month's Goo pics (including Winnebago Deal pics). Been a bit slack loading these on!

I'll not be in attendance so I want lots of stupid drunken pictures to laugh at when I come back to cambridge. Consider this an order.

Published by ax_coterie at 3:16pm on Thu 5th July 2007.

What time are you working on Saturday? Is this the job you're doing from 6 - 2am or something? If so, at least you've got all day to recover.

Published by simon_b (not active) at 3:17pm on Thu 5th July 2007.

We only do 2-10 shifts on the weekend because if our shift pattern changes to 2-10s during the week then we're legally allowed. We can't do 6-2 then 2-10. Not allowed.

6-2 shifts are surprisingly fun! All the management goes home and we've got the office to ourselves. I've been rocking out to WAN CDs at work so it's all good.

I never see anyone apart from at work though! I probably won't see Claire at all this week! I miss her :(

Published by ax_coterie at 3:20pm on Thu 5th July 2007.

I miss you too honey :(

It really isn't the same without you there for at least a bit of the evening. Boo that you're working the weekend cos I won't see much of you then either!

But I'm going to Goo on Friday night, so I suggest a few drinkies and dancing round the house like idiots :) Best thing is froby is working on Saturday morning so my challenge for the weekend is to get back home on Saturday morning the same time froby gets up for work :D

Huge hugs m'honey. And kisses too xxxxx :)

If you've got an early start I don't blame you. I've stopped going out during the week cos froby is up so early and it always wakes me at some point. I'm actually looking forward to a peaceful hangover with froby out at work from about 6am Saturday morning :)

Ax: I'm meeting with THL and Chelleywithac at the Earl of Derby at 8 if you fancy joining us. I get the impression quite a few peeps are heading down.

Decided on wearing a skirt and cowboy boots to work today, was too chilling for those sandels! Hehe... Still I've stuck with the browns so I'm looking sort of summery still :)

Thanks for your help this morning. Was great to have a quick chat before work, have really missed you! :)

I shall be at the Derby at 8 with a load of people from work. Their idea of indie is The Feeling and The Kooks so I hope the DJ's bear that in mind. (If I hear one The Feeling record, there will be deaths ;))

Published by DJ Ohmygod at 9:45am on Fri 6th July 2007.

There will be no Feeling records, but it's George and not Rob and Hannah doing the main set, so it should be fairly accessible.

Published by simon_b (not active) at 9:46am on Fri 6th July 2007.

Help? What help? All I did was lean on the kitchen worktop and watch you make sandwiches. Do you want that chicken carcass on the side? Can I throw it away?

Right... looks like I'm off to ASDA to buy some Kopparberg or sommat. I just thought coming over to yours and drinking would be better since you live fairly near then we can walk (or my version of walking on my bike).

Is that ok? I realise I just invited myself round. *cheeky*

Published by ax_coterie at 9:59am on Fri 6th July 2007.

Okey dokey. Tesco have Kopparberg on special offer!!!!!!!

Published by katemac at 10:03am on Fri 6th July 2007.

Bloody froby not clearing up. Yes you can chuck it. I forgot too in my made cleaning whilst trying to get dressed.

By help I mean saying I looked good and the sandals would look good with it too. It's nice to hear that sometimes. Froby is a typical man about things like that and although I know he would say something looked bad if it did he doesn't really say much else! :) Typical men!

Mmm... booze!! I'm gonna pick up some lemonade tonight and drink pimms before heading out me thinks! It's gonna be a messy night with lots of rock!!! :D \m/

Published by Clairee at 10:11am on Fri 6th July 2007.

Hehe. A WANer who will remain anonmymous did something similar last night. He was pushing through the crowd at the gig, and came up to us and said he was looking for his other half. "What is she wearing?", I quite reasonably asked. HE DIDN'T KNOW. Typical! ;-)

Jude1: yes, very exciting!! Not much left to do now. Just choosing music for the wedding. We need to find a track which is 10 minutes long, well 3 or so would be a good alternative, but I realised One by Metallica is about 8 minutes long. Any other metal tracks which we could use which are 10 minutes long??? Hehe :D

Published by Clairee at 10:51am on Fri 6th July 2007.

GL - I love Closer, if only because it reminds me of dancing to it at Alcatraz (see desert island discs thread). I ended up on a table which was made out of a barrel LOL. Ah, good times...

I don't mind what you play, sweetheart, I trust ya :o)

Published by chelleywithac (not active) at 10:51am on Fri 6th July 2007.

When we got married we did 3 tracks - one for the walking in, one for the signing of the register and one for walking out, I think? That way you get to choose three special tracks instead of just the one. You're actually not allowed anything remotely religious are you, so I wonder if something "satanic" metal-wise would be allowed, hehe...

Published by Jude 1 (not active) at 10:53am on Fri 6th July 2007.

Yeah, it's 3 tracks but one section has to fill 10 minutes. So he said 3 tracks, my reply was I'm sure I can find something 10 minutes long! Oh the look on my grannies face if I have metal at the registry office :D

Ha ha from 6 to 170 to 140.

Published by ax_coterie at 10:56am on Sun 8th July 2007.

Well yeah, 140 was the actual numbers and that looks good in the Kambar, so i don't know where the person who said this got the figure from unless they were there from 10 - 10.30 or something, when there's not usually many people there.

Published by simon_b (not active) at 10:58am on Sun 8th July 2007.

well, kambar owners said 170 to me

Published by James Alternation (not active) at 11:36am on Sun 8th July 2007.

Maybe 140's just what they told neil o...;-)

Published by simon_b (not active) at 11:50am on Sun 8th July 2007.

i had thought the same! 30 guests would seem to many (if they told neil the number of payers, which would seem quite likely)

Published by James Alternation (not active) at 11:53am on Sun 8th July 2007.

140 was my rough estimate of the number of people at Generator, I hadn't asked on the night how many we'd had in. When I actually went and asked about it after speaking to Mr. Ozzyfrogspawn they said it was actually about 170 overall.

Published by neilist at 3:11pm on Sun 8th July 2007.

My spies tell me that it was 6 in the Kambar. I trust my spies.

In other news, may I publically announce that Shameless were cringeworthily dire. The Pistolas were pretty good, mind. Don't like Pilots of the Sixth, but I think I'm too old for such binmalarkey, and they are, in all fairness, pretty good at it. Then things seemed to degenerate. In a fun way, mind.

I don't mind smoking outside. But the toilets smelt distinctly fucking insanitary without the good ole musk o' Marlboro to cloak the odour.

Such is life.

I think young Matt might have been joking. Silent Rob has also apologised to me for the incorrect information via text, which i passed on to Mr. Ogden who seemed to think i'd made the figure up myself. All sorted now :-)
