civil claim
I want to put in a civil claim, from what I can make out it will cost me £40 to make the claim.
My question is- if I win my claim then do I get my £40 back?

If you include that clause in your claim, you certainly can with CCJs

What does that mean- include that clause in your claim.... say if I were looking to claim £250 would I then ask for £290?

You'll get the £40 added onto the total that the debtor owes you.
Whether or not you get the money depends on many things, including whether they've got the money.
