Bicycle cull at the station.

If you have parked your bike near the Station. Especially in the CB1 area. They are going to remove it!
There are signs everywhere warning of this......

Do you know what date the signs say people have to remove their bikes by??

I think you just have to remove the tag, not the bike - I know there are plenty of people who have an abandoned bike they use to lock up against (essentially the only way to actually 'save a space') that have been there for years - so long as it's not a pile of rust with no wheels/moving parts, they'll leave it there if the tags are gone... (I don't know the 'when by' date, mind...)

Soz there are not tags..
This isn't city land, it's the CB1 Estate. ALL bikes not on a bike rack are destined to be culled.
I'll check the date tomorrow, but I know it's soon.
Any where on this map, bar Station Road its self

If they're auctioned, it could well be worth finding out more. You see a lot of old bikes built by old British firms, and even if you're not interested in restoring them yourself they go for a premium rate on Ebay these days thanks to hipsters wanting to turn them into fixies.

Is it time for a resurgence of push-rod brakes?

they started to remove the bikes from 13/11/2015 after being given two weeks notice by means of signs and posters then they are held at owl cycles for two weeks and if not collected they are gifted to owl cycles which are a charity they are not holding an auction. Over 80 bikes were taken because they were on private land and not attached to cycle racks . They will be doing this on a regular basis !

It's definitely time for a resurgence of push-rod brakes, but only push-rod spoon brakes.
