Image posting problems

Anyone still having trouble with the "trying to upload an odd file" message? If so, can you PM me which browser you're using (and look in the help menu for the exact version, please)?

I seem to remember it "just kinda went away" for JT without ever really getting to the bottom of it, but now it's been reported to the admin address by someone who's trying to post an event.

Nope, never went away for me. I still can't upload an image unless I fiddle with the compression settings. I wonder if this might be something to do with the antiquated (and not very legal) version of Paint shop I use, however.

I recently had to resize down to the traditional 299 to get an image uploaded.

Another test...

So 600px is still working (I noticed the site asking for 300px or smaller too).

Testing ... That's 296x600 now.

It was on 4th Sept that I couldn't get past 300.

I have just had a closer look, and found that the file size limit was actually defined in at least nineteen different places, to at least two different values. I've now changed them all, so with luck things will start working as they should. I hope there aren't any more that I've missed.

(You would probably have seen this error if you tried to upload a file between 200,000 and 262,144 bytes in size.)

Without going back to look at the images with which I had issues (cos, y'know, I can't be arsed), that sounds very plausible - I think they probably were somewhere between those values.
