I've never downloaded anything from YouTube.
This looks like it would work. I usually trust FileHippo but as a new program and commercial trial would create a System Restore point first, then I would uninstall it after use.

I want to put things onto youtube how do I do that?

Sign up for a youtube account. When you're logged in there's an 'Upload' button on the top left. It should allow you to select files from your computer or phone and upload. Don't know about required formats though mp4 is fairly common one I use as output type when compressing dvds on Handbrake.
