rainy Bank Holiday Mondays

remember that job I told you guys about I thought I wasn't really qualified to apply for that I got a few months ago? well I couldn't get the bank holiday week off because... colleagues. the irony is I really need to take time off so subcontractors can finish installing a new boiler I didn't need because the existing flue pipework failed last inspection. so this year seems to have been about changing or replacing shit (fridge, cooker, boiler, laptop?). and I've still got a month of leave I can't take off

post rant: what is there to do today (Monday)?

I got to the elipsis and then it was just so grown-up I went off and watched cartoons instead.

The Fitzwillam is open today. I might go there and look at the paintings. I'll wear an anorak there and back.

maybe should've capitalised that RAINY, it's been full on today so stayed in as I've not got a decent waterproof coat (or an indecent one)

It stopped raining a few times so I went to the firzwilliam in the dry bits and had a nice day. They have three exhibitions which were all good. They also have a big painting of Henry VIII on loan from Trinity College which is really amusingly bad.

We stayed in and booked hotels for our holiday next month. Two days in Tickhill for the Tickhill GP bikes races, then three days in York - looking forward to taking the camera for the walk round The Shambles.

www.hotelscombined.co.uk/ is bloody good for finding deals on, well, hotels, incidentally.

Did you look at the death bed picture Silent Pob? The one Fitzwilliam paid £3000000 for.

Very good but 3 mill pfffft
