http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/39169/Retro-Video-Game-Night-Fr...

Food-wise, there will be a burger van parked up outside the museum.

Due to fact that you can bring your own booze and that there'll probably be a few video game titles not suitable for kids this is an over 18s only event.

Come along and play the video games of yesteryear, we have all the classics you remember, including:
Sega Master System,
Sega Megadrive,
Sega Saturn,
SNES
NES
Gamecube
BBC Micro,
Amiga,
Commodore 64,
ZX Spectrum and the list goes on!

(Get in contact if you have any special gaming requests and we'll see what we can do!)

FYI - "The Games Master" aka Ian Guebert from GreatBitBlog is going to be running a Micro Machines tournament at this Retro Night :-)

Excellent night, played many games that I have known and loved and few more I hadn't seen before also ended up watching some of the micro machines tournament, which was very entertaining, more so for the occasional system fail. I reckon we'll be back again at a future night but will bring our own food....

Shame about the burger van, it was OK and an edible burger but with so many more options out there why have a van that doesn't even do chips and I didn't spot any veggie options? Surely other vans would be interested in moderately captive audience of 100+ people, possibly offering something more than just burgers too?

Glad you had fun :-) The next one we're doing is a charity one on the 14th November, similar format and we've also got MJ Hibbett performing at that one too.

If you have a recommendation/contact for another burger van then feel free to drop me a pm. Would be good to mix it up a bit. The van we used to have there before served chips but this one doesn't for some reason.

Here are several for starters http://www.foodparkcam.com/traders.html any of these sound better and I'm sure there are others. Definitely heard good things about steak and honour and the pizza place but not had the chance to sample them personally yet.

They had fryers on there, seems a bit odd not to put them to use but then cash and carry chips and burgers still aren't that inspiring.

I've tried the steak'n'on burgers. They're very tasty indeed, but I think they're over-priced; and as they don't do chips, you have to get a second burger if you want more than just a snack - and fifteen pounds for dinner from a van just feels like a rip off I'm afraid. But I've been wanting to try Jalan Jalan as I hear good things; and the crepe stall opposite Next/M&S in town is great.
