High Rises on Cheddars Lane

I've seen posters telling people not to accept high rises on Cheddars Lane.
Are they proper high rises, like 20 floors or more, or the Cambridge idea of a high rise at 6 floors?
Couldn't see any plans or details about these planned buildings.
A few years ago there was a limit of 7 floors in Cambridge...
Has that ended?

This planning application is the only one for Chedders lane at the moment. They show a max of 5 storeys.

There was a tall buildings consultation a few years ago. I don't know if that changed the maximum allowed. There have been talks of 8 storeys at the junction of Newmarket Road and East Road and the one at the end of Cherry Hinton Road is quite tall. I don't know if that is more than 7 though.

When I'm in charge I'm going to demolish King's College Chapel and build a fucking massive skyscraper there instead.

Thanks silent for the info, hardly what i'd call highrise.
John: Maybe the chapel could be mounted on top of this new skyscraper.

JT - One of the peculiarities of planning is that you don't need to own the land to submit a planning application. So if you wanted to you could perfectly legally submit a proposal to do just that.

Obviously the landowners (and everyone else) would object so it would be refused, then you'd still have to pay the application fees, but it would be worth it just to see the fuss it would create for 4 months until your application is heard at committee.

If I had the money then I'd apply to build a nuclear weapons cache and perhaps a Disneyland UK inside the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Perhaps a Disney nuke will kill us all, or alternatively we'll die from the banality of that Frozen nonsense.
