I got some junk mail the other day about a website https://www.streetlife.com/about/ Sounds like it covers a lot of the same ground as WAN, but with groups all over the UK. Has anyone here signed up?

I just signed up. It's OK, but very locally biased. Fine if you want to borrow a lawnmower or to recommend a book group, less good if you want to discuss the latest celebrity deaths and the other important news of the day.

Not nearly enough gratuitous LOLing for my taste either.

So it's nothing to do with Roxy Music then?

Isn't Twitter better for discussing people who died, or are generally obsessed with celebrity? That said I did post a quote from Charles Kennedy on mine last night, amongst other things

I use Twitter for finding out what is going on. I almost never Tweet myself. But you're right though, it is also spectacularly good for celebrity obsession if you are into that sort of thing.

^ agreed. It is completely pointless when people use hashtags on facebook, or even when writing emails. It's up there with "Putting the exact same thing on Twitter as you do on Facebook".

I wouldn't mind if more people put exactly the same gig news on WAN that they do on FB. Last night I went to a gig. It was at the Corner House, so a bit shit but I'm sure there are other things I'd have gone to if I planned a bit more in advance.
