Calling Evening News

Hello evening news, can you please have a look into the playground refurbish in Coleridge Rec? It's been closed since way before Christmas (Oct 2014 I think) and it looks like no work has been done for the past 2 months, which is shit.

Works barriers have been torn apart and people have started using it as it is.

When the hell are they going to finish it?? Same thing happened with the splash pad which only opened mid July last year which is basically when British Summertime ends.

Whoever is in charge of the project should be dry bummed. I'll volunteer for the bumming if absolutely needed.

Yes. Agreed. The "splash pad" fiasco was especially piss poor. It was due to open in May originally I think and yeah, losing two months worth of summer makes a paddling pool all but useless.

Must admit that the splash pad is really good and a great addition to the park. Just like the playground is going to be cool once finished. Have you tried the trampolines? Pretty fun! But it would be nice to see some builders every once in a while.

It's a pity all the surrounding roads have turned into a commuter car park!

All this talk of bumming and splashing makes me wonder if they have put the PVC sheeting down to prevent seepage.
Do the builders where construction helmets, because that's a different coloured hanky.

When I went past this morning they were laying that soft, rubbery asphalt stuff, so I am guessing they are on the home straight. Should be finished for the late MAy Bank Holiday, I hope.

I remember when that do gooding bitch Esther Rantzen demanded that all playgrounds were fitted with soft, rubbery asphalt stuff. In the end it prooved to be no deterterent in children hurting themselves in the slightest but loads of playgrounds were shut down especially in poor areas becase the Councils could not afford to update them.

I like it when you go abroad. You see playgrounds with interesting high climbing frames and concrete floors. Children over there quickly learn that if they fall off a climbing frame then they get hurt so they soon learn to be more responsible and careful.

I'm sure this is at least partially related to why England is full of binge drinking morons and in Europe they tend to behave a bit better. :)

Remember those barrel things, that you'd run on about three feet off the ground, holding on to metal handles that the blue paint has been chipped off.

The builders were at it again today so hopefully should be done so. all thanks to this wan threat i'm sure. Now listen councillors, i want large breasted bikini clad lifeguards or i'm off to the evening news!!

Some woman was telling me yesterday that police had arrested 2 flashers in the Coleridge Rec's playground a couple of days ago... Apparently, both were wearing macs, how cliché...
