According to Christopher Smart the poet, yes he does. Rejoice in the Lamb, a seriously wonderful piece of choral music feature 'my cat Jeoffrey'.

"For I will consider my Cat Jeoffrey, ... a cat, surpassing in beauty, from whom I take occasion to bless Almighty God."

That aside, it's a fantastic, uplifting piece!
