The pitfalls of City cycle paths

After the resurfacing of the paths on mid-summer common, I'd like to see similar work carried out on Parkers Piece, Clodhams Common and Stourbridge.
It's a nightmare on these commons trying to cycle past the type of pedestrian that purposely doesn't hear your bell, and has an off lead dog with the special awareness of a cluster bomb.

My favourite are the pedestrians who walk 5 abreast and refuse to let you past and then get all uppity because they think that you shouldn't be cycling along there.

This sort of work is done by the County Council, you should be able to email them and suggest it. I'm sure that they would love to do the work to other commons that you mention, however I suspect that they are not able to at the moment because Mr Cameron has taken all the money away with his constant public sector cuts.

That look you get from the pilchard faced pedestrian on a marked cycle path. A combination of disgust and the side effects of having a pole run all the way up their arse.

Someone yelled "this is meant to be a footpath!" at me the other day. I just pointed at the bike symbol painted on the ground right in front of them and rode off.

The picture of the bike on the tarmac should indicate to the most remedial walker that they are inferior and should move out of the f**king way....
I don't mean that of course, we should all co-exist in semi orgasmic harmony. That is apart from the people with untethered toddlers and errand dogs.
They are the real enemy, tempting death of their charges, as they amble along seemingly oblivious to their child's/dog's potential of a proper flattening as cyclists try to get to work or the pub.

What worries me these days is the number of pot holes especially along main cycle routes such as Gwydir street which perhaps should be renamed pot hole street!

Rather than just complaining about potholes you could try reporting them to the council so they can come and fix them. It seems to me a far more proactive way of solving the problem.

More cycle lanes.... On the A10 towards Foxton....... About time, that road is lethal.
