Any idea where these were? The name rings a bell but can't remember going into one. It's been a long time since I visited Ely, does anyone know if Tea For Two is still there? Being just across from a Starbucks I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't :(

I think that Carringtons was in the Cloisters, just round the Corner from the Library.

Tea for Two is still there:

I love going to Ely, I often pop there for an hour or two whenever I fancy a change of scene and a bit of peace and quiet. It's a lovely place.

I worked in the one in the basement years and years ago.

I remember some old woman complaining that her fish was too fishy....

No refund.

I thought that Boots on the corner of High St and Dolphin Lane was now a Starbucks

Tea for Two survived, Starbucks didn't Ely isn't really a Starbucks type of place

Oh no! I've eaten more Carringtons cheese scones than I can count over the years. That's a real shame, it felt like a local institution. Let's hope Cutlacks of Ely doesn't go the same way.

Personally, I always found the food crap - Every so often I'd forget and head down to the basement one in town and then remember why I never went. Sad to see it go, yes - and long live Cutlacks! - but if you can't survive on the footfall of a spot like that, there's probably more wrong behind the scenes than you can rectify...
