Cambridgeshire Flag

This page is collecting votes to decide what the offical flag of Cambridgeshire should be.

If, like me, you think these choices are a bit disappointing then feel free to suggest a new design below.

Well, it makes slightly more sense than this: https://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/tartanDetails.aspx?ref=486

Surely any Cambridgeshire flag should incorporate Disco Kenny....

I thought we already had one: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridgeshire

So it does. How peculiar.

I already have a Cambridgeshire flag that I fly at festivals when I remember to take it and the pole.

The flag on the Wikipedia website is the flag of Cambridgeshire County Council and NOT the flag for Cambridgeshire. Only Cambridgeshire County Council can legally fly this flag. That's why there was a competition to design a flag that represents the historic county of Cambridgeshire and all of us can fly. Only flags registered by the Flag Institute can be flown by the public. See this website for more details:

However, to be honest, I found the proposed designs disappointing.

Looking back at this page, the flag that won it is a bit rubbish.

So the Reality Checkpoint flag I made to take to festivals a few years ago was illegal?

I'm such a rebel.

Looks to me like CCC just nicked one of my granny's 1960s pillowcases off her washing line and used it as a flag. Which is taking the piss a bit, considering how my council tax we pay.

To be honest, Wrongfellow, I haven't seen the Reality Checkpoint flag but it's probably more original than the winning design for the Cambridgeshire flag competition. That was a disappointment. Apparently I'm wrong about only flags registered by the Flag Institute can be flown by the public but still, only CCC can fly the flag designed for themselves.
