Man seriously injured by rhino

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-30117625

Not a hazard I face very often in my line of work. I wonder what "enhanced pain relief" means? I suspect it's "he's fucked - better just fill him with heroin and let him have an easy time on the way out."

He was "taken to hospital" rather than "pronounced dead at the scene", so maybe they used just enough heroin to knock him out?

I'm guessing they were pretty sure he wasn't going to make it that far. A rhino can probably do quite a lot of damage in a very short space of time to a human.

I think if you're obviously a goner they prefer to declare you dead at the scene because there are less forms to fill in...

Re the headline: what was the rhino doing rampaging around Addenbrooke's?

If we had a Labour government there wouldn't be any rhinos rampaging around Addenbrooke's.

On my one and only visit to Whipsnade, at the age of eight or so, we saw one of the keepers being gored by a bison.

I conclude that Whipsnade isn't a very safe place to be a keeper.
