I always remember two veteran cyclists I used to know, Arthur and Dave - both well into their eighties when I knew them, and neither one with us any longer - parking their hatchbacks next to each other by the tea hut the cyclists used to meet at and having a sound-off by seeing whose car stereo could play big band jazz the loudest.
