Bad Timing is 12 today (and acts like it? ...).

Next week BT celebrates 12 years of events in Cambridge with a lineup of international and local electronic dance music.

CONTAINER
(Spectrum Spools, Morphine/USA)

Container is the stripped-down and raw hypnotic and damaged techno project of Providence, RI's Ren Schofield, who started the project in 2009 combining his background in noise and cassette-collage music with a new-found love of 90s minimal techno. The result is a live sound of serious weight and function -- ferocious and relentless, hypnotic and rough-edged -- mono recordings equally suited to the stages of Unsound, basement clubs or derelict spaces. After a string of cassette releases, the debut LP was released on Editions Mego sub-label Spectrum Spools, followed by further releases on the Morphine label.

“Its crunchy beats, low-tech decay and fist-pumping zeal have struck a chord with an electronic dance music scene that is once again craving techno that is hard, heavy and elemental” Resident Advisor

"Container, aka US-based Ren Schofield, runs a mean line in ferocious, psychedelic techno, whose single-minded intensity and raw edges suggest early Jeff Mills or Ancient Methods going supernova and burning everything around them to a crisp" The Quietus

NOCHEXXX is based in Cambridge and releases skewed dancefloor beats on Actress's Werkdiscs label as well Ramp Recordings, with more releases in the pipeline.

Under his more experimental CHXFX alias he has had split releases with the likes of Ekoplekz on labels including Further and Feral Tapes. Recent appearances include London Opal Tapes/Public Information event and this year's Space-Time festival at Wysing Arts Centre.
