Nobody's chatting about this yet. I thought I'd start some idle chat.

Support comes from The Static Front, who are very good, and Bricolotheque, who are 50% me.

Islet are quite genuinely one of the most exciting new bands I've seen in years.

Fully licensed bar.

Bass player: "hey mate... can you turn down the monitors a bit please?"

Sound engineer in extremely puzzled sounding reply: "Really?".... classic...

The band never owned the domain. They have zero proper web presence. No myspace, no website, no facebook. That site was set up by some enthusiastic fans.

sounds like a job for Simon...

quick Myspace set up job... nice early end of year festive time pressie for them... go on...

They don't seem to want one. Their whole ethos seems very anti-web presence apart from a 6 music session.

You can see that it's the other singer questioning the monitor situation.

Caught them at Latitude, completely bonkers and one of the best I saw things all weekend. I'll be there.

Tonight!

I spent an average of 1 to 2 hours every single day on myspace doing band admin / promoter and record company searching for about 3 years. Now I don't have to do it anymore Myspace in my head has become the most odious thing in the world. It doesn't even work properly and let you listen to bands easily. I say good for them not using it.

Looking foward to this tonight yep jahpathurrah for this ect.

Wh... wh... Why?

I took it all very seriously. I sent a demo to every single person in the unsigned guide one year. Except for the "van hire" sections and that sort of thing, obviously.
