[Event Chat] Black Hole Sun - modern rock / metal DJ night, @ The Q Club - Sat 25 Sep 2010

In response to requests at / about Interstellar Overdrive (classic rock, 1st Fridays) as to playing more up to date stuff - we are launching Black Hole Sun, a modern rock / metal DJ night to be held bi-monthly on 4th Fridays at The Q Club, first one tonight.

... Yes I know, the dates aren't quite on target for the rest of this year due to venue availability - the next one will be Friday 29 October, and after that Friday 24 Dec (Yes, Xmas Eve - gotta be better than watching Fools and Horses repeats...)

Guest DJs from Cambridge and beyond will be playing rock / metal released after 1990; Musical style = 'Stuff People Know And Can Dance To'.

From next month, The Q Club will have something rock / alternative going on in there every weekend, which is something that (i) I never thought could happen in Cambridge and (ii) wasn't what I set out to do when I started my classic rock night in there on Good Friday..

... but they are still looking for more regular alternative-type events to run in there!
