most of you onhere are so arrogant. Shown in the Drowned in Sound thread. A couple of you (inluding the thread starter) actually said some intelligent and interesting things and actually realised that DiS isn't pretencious and that it's only the internet.

DiS is insanely easy to use and you can actually reply to specific people. I don't like how you have to reply to the bottom of the thread here....just a minor criticism, other than that it looks like quite a nice forum.

DiS is a great site. I think the main criticism people had was that some of the board posters took themselves a little too seriously and occasionally forgot it's a) just music and b) just the web, not life.

I've not much looked into it all yet but having watched the threads on here from voices I kind of trust I'm not sure it's the place for an open minded music of all genres loving person such as me!!

Not so... there are some bigots about true but you telling me there aren't on DiS? And you can't use a thread that from what I gather is a defence of Cambridge music to illustrate that point. Tensions will always be high when defence of a scene is an issue

It was mostly me on that thread, and my argument was 1) making (and wanting to make) money from your music shouldn't be seen as some kind of artistic compromise. 2) You can never be sure if a musician's intent is 'pure' so it probably doesn't matter whether they wrote music to cash in, or to entertain (or whatever). It sems like a lively debate somehow spilled over into forum warz, which was all good fun, but the truth is a number of us are both WANers and DiSers, and it's actually OK to be both.

That's right yeah. DiS is well better than WAN. We have proper discussions here like the new Artic Ting Tings or the Israelo-Palestinian conflict with dictator Mugabe. So yeah, DIS is well good and well varied!
