Death Race 2000

I watched this on TV last night and it was quite possibly the strangest film I have ever seen. Like Whacky Races but with people, lol.

It's the greatest B movie ever made isn't it? Easily the best exploitation film of the 70's.

It was on ITV3 or something. I thought it was truly hilarious.

I then followed that with "five go mad in dorset" on more4.

As the cars roar into Pennsylvania, the cradle of liberty, it seems apparent that our citizens are staying off the streets, which may make scoring particularly difficult, even with this year's rule changes. To recap those revisions: women are still worth 10 points more than men in all age brackets, but teenagers now rack up 40 points, and toddlers under 12 now rate a big 70 points. The big score: anyone, any sex, over 75 years old has been upped to 100 points.

Apparently there is going to be a "Death Race" made in 2008 which sounds suspiciously like a crap re-make starring Jason Statham...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Judge Dredd's look was partly based upon David Carradine's character in this film (specifically on the poster).

All right! All right, and yes sirree! A clean hit!! A perfect hit! Too bad the guy was only thirty-eight; just two years older, he'd have been worth three times the points!

Well America, there you have it, Frankenstein has just been attacked by the French Air Force and he's whipped their derrieres!

i remember seeing it at cinema, think it came out about same time as Rollerball which was similar in some ways (violent sport becoming mass entertainment)

RTC have a song called The Ballad of Shotgun Joe Viturbo in honour of Sly Stallone and his classic bit of bitch slapping in that film.

What a tragic figure indeed.
