Discontinued Lush stuff

Dunno how much you people like stuff from Lush (I like some of the products but find the shop itself unbearably cutesy - not to mention smelly) but just in case: For the next 4 or so days they're doing this thing (Lush Retro) on certain discontinued products where if more than 50 people order it, they'll make up a new batch to fill those orders. I know there are some of the shampoos that have been replaced by less-good versions so I'll be going for that, personally.

I loved their Back for Breakfast shower gel, will see if that's added.

looks like it is - but you'll need 46 other people to want it back as well :-(

(or you could order 47 bottles yourself...!)

Does it make me sad for clicking on this thread expecting to be able to buy a 7inch of "Nothing Natural" and the "Sweetness and Light" EP?

I guess it must. :(

I remember spotting Miki Berenyi having a pre-gig browse in Miss Selfridge in Petty Cury.

I hate the smell of Lush. A few of their things are nice but when everything is smelling together it's a bit much.

Damn, this thread appears to be going back on topic.

Lush were a great band. Where do you get the cheap records?

Published by Richard at 4:18pm on Thu 27th September 2007.

Richard, you can buy all my old Lush records if you want.

I saw Lush in about 1995, 1996. I've never heard someone sing so off key (except for John maybe).

The rose petals are worse to clean out of the bath than the glitter is.

That would have been in 1996 on the "lovelife" period cos they didn't do much in 95. This was when they stopped doing swirly floaty spangly songs and made a britpop record. The britpop stuff showed the bare vocals, naked and out of key. It was a bit rubbish. The one with Jarvis singing was quite good though. :)

Trust me, i saw them in 1991 and 1992 and the vocals were painfully out of tune then. Terrible live band.

At least in 1991 you had lots of pretty swirly floaty spangly noises to distract you from the singing.

Published by Silent Rob at 5:15pm on Thu 27th September 2007.

Actually no. The singing was a bit rubbish.

I still say Emma was hottest.

I saw them in about 1996 and not only was she singing off key she reaaalllly needed to get her roots sorted out. I only remember one song of there's, her going on about how she didn't want to be a single girl. Didn't their drummer get killed in a road accident or something?

Don't worry Simon I was just contributing to the hi-jacking of the thread and don't really want to buy any Lush records. I think that I have a cassette of them somewhere. I seem to remember that the out of key vocal was kind of part of the act. They seemed quite good at the time but maybe it was just that they were on 4AD and I have a soft spot for that label and would buy pretty much anything that they put out.

The Drummer hung (sorry hanged Jude1) himself. Drummers tend to do that quite a lot. See also Heavenly, Feeder, Crowded House, and lots of other bands too.

Single Girl was rubbish.

No, but it makes me sad as my first reaction to this wondering where the dildo section had been hidden in the Lush shop.
