I have heard wondrous things of these Werewolves. Saw the Ponies again at Truck. Will there be strings on Saturday? I missed the strings... Still: Hooray for this.

I really am gutted to be missing this show, but out of town at a wedding for the weekend.

Betty and the Werewolves is a much better than Wolves stole my Manhood... or bicycle or whatever they were meant to have robbed.

Hmmm, wonder if me an my homies might take the lowrider north into Cambridge for this to witness some redeeming. Hmmmm indeed.

Wolves stole my childhood are a excellent band. enough of your nonsesne sir.

Published by Matt R at 2:57pm on Tue 25th September 2007.

The only wolf band that ever mattered was Wolves of Grease.

IMPHO - WSMC are medicore at best. Then again, I wouldn't know what good disco was if it rang a bell oops upside my head.

Actually... I thinks it's Wolves of Greece.

"I'll be working my way back to you babe..."

Can we strap marc into place, so he looks less like an over enthusiastic music teacher when he does percussion? ;-)

But he looks too happy clappy to be bez. Send him out with large quantities of pills and speed and only let him back when he looks suitably damaged and then he can be bez.

You should give him a roaming microphone so he can percuss all around the venue.

It was only meant as a discreet bump.

Just so that there is no double meaning here, when I say bump - I don't mean the undoubtedly mighty biceps of Thandor but the rather innocent ticket enquiry

I like Eske , are the other bands any good?

Yes

This was good.

Betty and the Werewolves totally rocked. Their singer/guitarist slept through her alarm (in Paris!) and didn't get there in time for the gig so the other 3 just went ahead with the gig anyway. 20 minutes in they declared that "this is the last song unless she turns up in the next 2 1/2 minutes". Sure enough, half way through the song the wayward werewolf came scuttling in, leapt on stage and joined in then did another 2 songs with them. Awesome. Drama aside, they have the tunes as well. The tunes are important and the tunes are good.

Eske were Starsailortastic, Keanerific and Damienriceamungous. They are good at the thing they do.

Pony Collaboration were somewhat diminished in number but put in a more spirited and satisfying performance than at Truck. I enjoyed it, especially the singalong at the end. I'm very jealous of his voice, it's like what Alun from The Delgados would have sounded like had Alun from The Delgados actually sung in tune. There was some good melodica action too. I still miss the strings though...

Betty and the Werewolves were in Kambar afterwards, very drunk :D The singer kept telling me my fringe was great and then joined in with a snogging couple on the dancefloor *cackle* I had a tremendous night.

Me too... I met up with them post-kambar/foalsparty. Tired doesn't even begin to describe me. I'm off for a snooze now...

Somewhere within each of those lies a very favourable review. Well done. I like to think that one day we'll be described as "Something bosom" as well.
