Trouble on Jesus Green
Someone at work has just said that Jesus Green is crawling with police.
Does anyone know what's going on?

I love jesus green ... the kids .. the ice cream seller .. the people doing t'ai chi ... the street drinkers ... the people playing football ... the teenagers who believe getting stoned there is soooo naughty and original ... I ran round there three times on Sunday and saw representatives from most of cambridge's life.

Police recovering a dead body found floating in the river under Jesus Lock Bridge in Cambridge. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.

One of the regulars just came in the pub and told Ciaron. Apparently it was by the lock and now the bridge and path are taped off.

It must be tremendously exciting to discover a body. Not finding it because of a detector system would spoil all the interest and potential storytelling of the incident to all the people in the pub, amusing squeamish people, grandchildren etc.

They are more than just a body though, they are a person with a family, friends, a history, etc ... that's what I can't deal with ... but I can't watch Casualty! It's too gory!

Is there a "pleasant" and painless way to go? Ferocious white rapids, smashed over the rocks and tossed about like a rag doll with limbs going all over the shop. Dashed on the rocks... that's my way to go.
Worst way... the jumpers from 9/11... always makes me wince, all in a decision.

I remember years ago living on my boat waking up to a lot of noise and opening the side hatch and lookign out o see a body float past.....he'd been in there a few months.....not the best way to start the day
the noise was lal the firemen and polic running down other side of bank trying to snag him.

about ten years ago I was cycling past the lock on Jesus green and came across an old lady on a mobility scooter just going up and down next to the edge and felt very concerned for her so I stopped and chatted to her for a long while and managed to get her to go home and call her family I called the police and told them about her I got the "we will send somebody down to have a look" the very next evening the police pulled her out dead I was so angry I ripped severn shades of sh** out of them for not checking up on her !!!!!!!!!! I felt like sh** for weeks and weeks so every time they pull somebody out dead it all comes back to me and feel the same sadness again?
