tv problem

all day i have had a problem with my tv, the channels work with only the sound not the picture! the screen is black.

i watched a dvd to ensure it was not the bulb and everything was fine, if i search for channels i find none that work.

i live on sturton st and we have a box our aerial goes through, i think it is vergin media now - i have never paid but always just had the normal channels and bbc news 24.

does anyone have a clue what might have happened???
has anyone's tv in the area been affected?

My virgin media is also down mate...it went off during Eastenders. Not that I was watching it. *cough*

We've got Virgin Media and had our tv on since eastenders and it's been fine all afternoon. The picture went a little funny during eastenders but no problems since. Very strange!

i get that with freeview sometimes, try unplugging it for a while then plug it in again

Im on air at the moment but my missus reliably informs me that is still down...she's called Virgin but they wouldnt speak to her as she is not the account holder, but they did tell her there were no known problems in the area...does seem a bit coincidental though.

Oh well, turn your radio on instead, there's a decent show on :0)

it is the frustration of trying the tv... as it warms up and you can here the tv audio, you get excited (simple pleasures i know) then the disappointment when the thing is still fucked makes me so mad.

Damn, mine went off as well. Used to have all the Virgin channels but cancelled my subscription, so only had BBC 1 and two and the three ITV channels. Just got back from Florida and all the channels had gone. Assumed Virgin had cut them. So wired in my coat hanger...Lousy pic and sound. But from what you are saying, it's just a blip in service....
