Scam texts?
I keep getting the following text sent to me:
Your TVLicensing payment(s) is overdue. To Pay £12.00 using the credit/debit card you last used ending 3534 please text YES to authorise. POBOX181PR13GE.
Now, I'm not stupid enough to do it but last week it was only £6.00
and my card doesn't end with those numbers.
Anyone had anything similar? It's all a bit annoying.
BTW the phone number is +447797882055 and doesn't go through if I try and ring it.

sounds strangely bizare to me, sounds like its just coming from a mobile with that number, the tv licensing people wouldnt send it thru a normal mobile surely?

That was something completely different yet still very annoying. And I don't keep phoning them, this one text me out the blue.

dont you pay tv licensing over direct debit or as a lump sum? therefore you could not have missed a payment without them telling you about it via letter? sounds like a scam to me

I was getting Inland Revenue emails sent to me "ababoonsass" yahoo account... saying "You have a rebate due of £500, please sne us your credit card details so we can credit your account".
Now I am pretty sure that on all my tax returns and forms, the contact email is not ababoonsass... bloody criminals... probably Albanians ya know. Or them there Polski's... right up for a bit of crime that lot.

I know how to protect your accounts against this sort of nuisance. Anyone who's interested should just PM me with your credit card details including PIN numbers and mother's maiden name and I'll sort it out for you - from the Bahamas.

The tv licensing lot do text. I got a helpful text last week reminding me that I had to pay it the following day. But they asked me if I wanted to set it up and then asked for my mobile number, I don't think they do it as standard.

Sounds like someone's given them their mobile no, but got it wrong and given Jazz's one by mistake. Must be a similar number. Annoying.
