Found my cat - wanted to thank you all

I just wanted to thank you all for your words of encouragement and reading the posting about my lost cat. We've just found him trapped in a house - people said they'd heard meowing since the weekend, and seen the posters but didn't think to get in touch! I would be cross about that but am just so delighted he's alive!
This has been a traumatic experience and my heart goes out to all those people who haven't found theirs yet. There are loads of cats out there - some lost, some found. I've learnt through this process that if you find a cat, feed it, bring it indoors and contact your local vet and animal shelter. If you just post to web forums or just feed it but don't tell the vet, animals and their owners don't get reunited. So please, if you hear meowing and have seen a lost cat sign, be kind enough to phone. Tell the police, or RSPCA.

Yay, so glad you got your cat back! My cat went missing once and it was a horrible experience, you just end up thinking the worst.

That's great news. One of mine went missing over Christmas and I wasn't so lucky :-( but I'm really pleased yours is back :-)

So glad you found him. Made a concerted effort to look around the area tonight by going into the Free Press, Cricketers and The Elm Tree.

Tell you cats if they get lost come to my house, I think our cats have an open house party here every night :D
