Nostalgia

I have just been looking over my old posts (just because) and I am now somewhere between feeling happy and a ltitle sad.

Happy because some of them were funny and it was when I was first on here and meeting new people and just having a laugh. Also because it reminded me of a time when things were better and simpler and because people were in my life then who aren't really anymore and it was nice to read back what they had posted.

Sad because things aren't really simple or better anymore and certain people aren't in my life really anymore.

I didn't mean it to be melancholy, sorry. It did actually make me smile and feel really lovely for the most part, it was just once I thought I about it, it made me a little sad.

Oh well, sorry for blue-ing up the mood...

Tonight we rock it like it's hard (ooer missus). I can't bleeding wait...

I like the word (if not the concept) melancholy.

Oooh I like that word too. It's nice to say. Especially when you're feeling a little sad, it just seems to fit your mood quite nicely...

It is a blue word. If I think about it, it is always written in blue swirly writing.

No no no ...it's clearly a dingy olive-green coloured word.

reddish brown. This is cos the letter M is reddish brown, and if a word starts with a letter that I associate particularly strongly with that colour, then that's how it works for me.

I also find that certain colours smell a certain way. i.e. green is always pine and blue is always a fresh watery smell, like swimming pools.

Despite the spelling, the word always reminds me of the Smashing Pumpkins album cover. And by extension, the video for Tonight. So for me, the word 'melancholy' conjures up grainy, faded, victorian, Jules Vernesque-ish sort of imagery.

To be fair, Mia, it is the one and only time I have done it. I was looking for something someone had written and just started reminiscing. A lot of it was quite amusing.
