in case you didn't know, buses are not getting through at the minute. Froby's been stuck in Bar Hill since 4 bless him. Good luck getting about!

Eeek, the one day I drive to work because I needed to get to an early morning meeting, why didn't I cycle, why??!

Published by Lady Many Questions at 4:48pm on Tue 18th September 2007.

I was supposed to be on a split shift, took one look at Grange road and decided to work through. Even with 2 hours between shifts i wouldn't have got home and back again in time.

Right, just spoken to froby and he's been told that there are no buses going through Bar Hill. Does anybody live/work anywhere near and could give a couple of guys a lift into town somewhere???? Pretty please????

I just cycled from Addenbrookes, along Trumpington Road and through the city up to Castle Hill - gridlock central. Solid both ways up Chesterton Lane/Castle Hill too.

I'm home now... what to do... I think I'll go watch slow-crawling traffic from a pub window.

You're a sadist DS but I'd do exactly the same (and with an incredibly smug grin too).

What do these people expect? Going to such places as the Bar of Hill. Surely one only goes there to get tiles and pick up undelivered Securicor packages???

Published by ababoonsass at 5:07pm on Tue 18th September 2007.

Clairee — the traffic's moving in both directions on the A14 now, so it should be ok. I hope so anyway, I'm bussing it back from bar hill too.

Published by Kascha at 5:07pm on Tue 18th September 2007.

I know the traffic is moving. He's seen a 15a heading in the opposite direction. He's decided to get a taxi with some other peeps now. The bus people weren't really helpful either being based in Essex. I hope you get home okay Kascha!

By the way, since when were any of The Resistance from Liverpool? Just been on your myspace. By my reckoning you've got Manchester, Devon and Cambridge. Not a scouse gene to be seen.

Woohoo! A bus has just gone through. Took the driver nearly 2 hours to do the round trip. Good job I'm cooking casserole tonight. Should be ready by the time Froby gets in! :D

Groovy!

Simon — That's a) a joke and b) a ploy Rob has got going. As far as I'm aware we're from London, Manchester, Norfolk and Doncaster.

Geography isn't as straightforward as it sometimes may seem.

Left work (in Chesterton) at 4.35. Total time to Cherry Hinton Road (including half an hour at tescos Newmarket Road) - just over 2 hours. 20 mins from Wests garage to Tescos.

Left work in Bury at 5.30. Hit tailbacks near Newmarket at 5.45. Got home at 7.30, having been diverted south and up past Addenbrooke's, about as far away from my house as you can get. Yay, what fun!

I think I saw THL and the BooBoo walking down Coleridge Road and I was very jealous... Why did I take an out-of-town job again?

same here kirstym it toke me two and half hours to get home i was so cold

When I left the pub at 8pm my phone road delay thingy was telling me there were 15 miles of stationary traffic on the A14. I went that way anyway to get on the A428 but the A14 wasn't blocked at all. Got home in the usual 1/2hr.

Took me 1 3/4 hours from Bar hill to the train station last night on a bus moving at 1 mile an hour

Typical - I think I saw you a bit too late!

I love my job but I hate the travel. I'd use public transport if it wasn't twice as expensive :( Mind you, this puts it in perspective: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cambridgeshire/7000955.stm - might have been stuck in traffic yesterday, but at least I'm not grieving for a loved one caught up in the accident.
