A friend of mine had the theory that by re-forming the Pistols as a competent pub-rock band to 'play the hits', John Lydon was making the ultimate punk statement: fuck the legacy, we're in it for the money. I think there's a lot to that.

The live album of their last reformation gig in 96 is actually quite good. They look quite embarrasing though.
