Fen Road industrial estate is about as run down as you'll get in Cambridge. Mill Road is all twee and boutiquey these days.

What used to be Milton Road primary school is empty at the moment and no developers have made it into extortionately priced flats as yet. It's at the junction of Milton Road and Gilbert Road, very close to The Only Pub Anyone Is Aware Of in Cambridge TM.

Might need an armed guard though.

That old garage on Mill Road which was briefly the Wysing Arts Centre is all knackered, but it might still be fenced off.

Apart from the grassy knoll bit that describes me perfectly too.

i'd go for the site of the old black bear press factory off kings hedges road next to psi net and opposite the CRC site.

The building is demolished / part demolished, there is a smaller derelict unit behind it and a massive great mobile phone mast.... i'd reckon it's perfect for what you're after

I am dying to breaki nto that big old abandoned house on Chesterton Lane/Hertford Street... it looks hauntingly cool and delapidated. Whoever finally buys and renovates that house will surely have one of the coolest houses in this town. At the mom tho, it's all a bit Scoobi Doo.

Can I come with you and be Thelma or Daphne? I go past it every morning and really want to see inside. It was on the market recently and I wonder if the new owner is leaving to get into such a bad state it'll have to be developed? I hope not, it would ruin the street.

There are days when I can be a totally unsufferable pedant, for which I apologise - however, today is such a day, so I must just point out that it is 'Velma', rather than 'Thelma'.
Sorry.

Doh! Of course it is!

Thanks, you've saved me from embarrassing myself at a fancy dress party should I ever want to go as Velma!

I can't see anyone but University Development getting that building. I've seen a little of the inside briefly when they had a yard sale and sold off all sorts of weird and wonderful junk, it needs some work doing.

Not sure if Cambridge has an Urban Explorers group... there are a few weird and wonderful places that need checking out.
