Our GORGEOUS new website

OOoooooh. I feel like a proud parent, or something. Our website's gone all databased, searchable and, like, modern looking! See here:

http://www.rhythmonline.co.uk

There will perhaps be a few blips and teething problems, so bear with us, but we thing it's the bee's knees. :-) :-)

ps - soon to come: lovely thumbnails of the artwork, once our server hosts pull their fingers out.

Looking good and I always like to see a photo featuring shelves that are bending slightly under the weight of quality vinyl!

Did you ever check out the clips licensing we were talking about?

Are you back in central Cambridge again now? (In other words, could I collect and avoid paying for postage?)

Published by crushingdeath at 5:17pm on Thu 16th August 2007.

^ yes they are, although according to Nick I have to take cake when I collect my next order. He's a cheeky one that husband of your Jude!

Thank you all for the comments. Hurrah!

CD - yes, we're in the Romsey area. We are happy for people to come and pick stuff up, or we'll even bring it out to you, if we're going to be at the same gig or pub or whatever at the same time. Cos we're dead nice like that :-)

Systematic Abuse's comment made me giggle.

Very impressive catalogue. I'll definately be buying a few things when I have some money.

When I was about 15 I saw an advert for Rhythm Records in a magazine. I looked it up on the map, got the bus into town, walked down Mill Rd to the address and it was just a house. I was very confused because I didn't understand mail order at the time. :/

Very nice website BTW. :)

Published by Silent Rob at 1:21pm on Fri 17th August 2007.

Aw, Rob, you should have knocked on the door! How many years ago was that? I may have been there (was it on Gwydir Street). People used to do that quite often, in fact, quite a few people came from overseas, not *specifically* to see us, but when they were in the UK on holiday. Cue disappointed and confused looking Japanese teenagers, knocking on the door of a weekend morning, to be met by Nick in his dressing gown ;-)

I think it was Gwydir Street. It was about 1993. I was far too shy to knock on the door back then. When I first used to go London at about that time I didn't understand how the tubes worked so I used to walk from Kings Cross to Camden and then back again because I was too afraid to ask anyone how you used them. :)

Published by Silent Rob at 1:54pm on Fri 17th August 2007.

Hehe. I *was* there by then, I'd have been friendly and nice, honest! There would have been lots of much younger Clarke-lets bombing around too. Ah, nostalgia...

Bugs coming out of the woodwork :-( Nothing that can't be fixed, I'm sure (web genuis guy is away for the weekend), but just in case anyone else had spotted it - we are aware that if you click on the > or >> symbols you get an error message, when searching or browsing the catalogue. Should be fixed by early next week.

Thinking about it, I've been aware of Rhythm for years and it always puzzled me that such clearly tasteful people were operating from a Gwydir St address and that I didn't know them. Jolly glad that I sort of know you now!

Truly, an impressive site. Really quick, even on my PC.
Alas, you haven't got Circle and the Square by Redbox. My search for what must undoubtably be the most tragic, tasteless and guiltiest of guilty pleasures continues nonetheless.

Bonkers - just checked that out and it's going for silly money - bit like the World Of Twist CD - baffling.

When I moved to Cambridge in 1992 I was also confused by the lack of a shop front on Gwydir Street but like SR, wasn't up to knocking on the door.
