If you wanted to go to the Secret Garden Party....

Due to a wedding (not mine!) I can no longer go to this, so have my guest list spots (two) for sale at face value. PM me if interested.

Does anyone have experience of blagging tickets through working at it (recycling, stewarding, etc.)?

thats my kinda guestlist !

Most festival guestlists cost money. If i had operating costs like they do i'd probably make sure everyone paid something!

i like your cheaplist idea

Published by General lee at 9:11am on Wed 27th June 2007.

I've been doing cheaplist recently because i've been donating the money to the Defend Council Housing Campaign. £1 a head for freeloaders seems like a good way to do it :-)

NICE.

i was thinkign of useing cheap list rather than guest list till cost covered then maybe do something like give money back to band or something

How is it a 'guest' list if you charge people? Next time someone comes round mine for a cuppa they're getting a bill at the end :P

Oh stop being picky Dave ! :P you know what i mean. large guest list can be the death of a night , most bands treat it with respect and are cool about it . i don't do promotion for the money neve rhave never will but i like to cover my cost like anyone!

Published by General lee at 9:31am on Wed 27th June 2007.

They are guests because they're getting preferential treatment to all the people who are paying £6 or £7 a ticket.

I also only do it for a campaign fund thing or if a band wants 300 guests etc.

I guess i have different views . then again i hardly ever use any guest list im given.

but would be nice if bands didn't walk up to your door staff and give them a ten strong list without tellign you....

I have nothing against guestlist, as it's only fair that long suffering girlfriends, wives, boyfriends, husbands etc don't have to pay to watch a band for the millionth time. Also from a personal viewpoint, i don't make loads of money doing this, so the occasional free ticket is definitely appreciated and a nice perk of the job. What goes around, comes around and all that...

i totally agree. what im saying is a deflected guest list.

Published by General lee at 9:46am on Wed 27th June 2007.

What the hell is a deflected list?

Published by simon_b (not active) at 9:48am on Wed 27th June 2007.

basically people on the "Guest list" pay i dunno half price and then once costs are covered you give them there money back.

Published by General lee at 9:52am on Wed 27th June 2007.

Sounds complicated to implement.

Well you've got to find all the guests and give them their money back.

*continues to bang head on the wall as its comforting*

Ooops - forgot to put the price in - £100 each - a tenner less than the normal ticket price.

They are basically guestlist slots that I got given when I was told I would get 'tickets' as part payment for a job I did.
