Finally the date has been confirmed. Im definately hoping to make it to this one this time.

Excellent. Tickets on sale yet?

Published by Jude 1 (not active) at 9:12am on Fri 13th April 2007.

That's a better date for me - wasn't the original date looking to be the 28th June? -the day before the SUBHUMANS (or ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMES in London) and two days before my little half dayer gig at the Portland with MILLOY etc. That was looking like a payday to broke day in 5 days scenario.

Steve Adams was great last night...

i've heard the new album and it's lush. so there. in fact i'm listening to it right now

Not out tonight mate, absolutely brassic... too many bills, too many nights out... been a tough month so far.

I want Oysters!

I told you to go home last night babs, but would you listen, would you bollox. Only heard a bit of the new one, liked what i heard but it wasn't enough to really make a disicion

Just a reminder folks abouts this and the tickets are selling well. There are plenty left at the moment but I wouldn't leave it until the night to book. On a slightly different note for *insert music genre/artist* fans The Enemy will be appearing at The Junction 29/09/07.

Just got word that the support for the BFB is: The Moon Music Orchestra.

Published by bond359 at 3:56pm on Wed 30th May 2007.

Can I take issue with the equating of "all you indie fans" with "The Enemy". I'm the former, but certainly not into the latter....

Yes, that's always the best approach to a band you aren't familiar with, I'd say. Funny - my walk-to-work choice this morning was BFB on shuffle songs. I've got all their stuff bar this new album, so it was a nice long selection. I've had "Welcome Home Loser" (is this song's title, I know it's the album's name?) going round my head all day. Perhaps Mr J1 can greet me when I get home this evening with a rendition of it. How we'd laugh.

i'm going to go to this and curse not being able to smoke ;-)

Published by James Alternation (not active) at 5:00pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

I am going to drive there... if I cannot smoke then I won't want to drink either... cheap night then... if I can get in. I used to tend to smoke a bit in there as it's such an inhospitable building and like a cold warehouse... seemed OK to puff into the cavernous space above... but as was said earlier... fuck the support bands if you are a smoker... that is truly sucky, but suckily true.

Published by ababoonsass at 5:04pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

Why was I thinking it was at the Shed? Or was that the last time?

Published by The George (not active) at 5:05pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

Yeah that was the last time, it's in the big one this time, I think it is known as 'the stripe' but I've never really known why-is it cos they sell red stripe there?

Published by Bushwacka at 5:34pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

yup, sponsored by them

*insert rant about corporate sponsored venues sucking satans cock here*

Published by James Alternation (not active) at 5:37pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

Yep Red Stripe are one of our many sponsors, as we are a charity we have to try and attain money anyway we can. I don't think the Junction sucks "satans cock" at all but each to their own.

Published by bond359 at 7:42pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

I don't actually really have a problem with it at the junction but the ones in london... carling this and that, etc just sell diabolical beer. The o2 wireless festival as well really rams it down your throat, with adverts for o2 and pseudo-interviews which are actually just more ads.

it' saddens me that at a time when gig tickets cost more than they ever did and the number of people seeing gigs is at an all time high that so many venues feel compelled to lose their own identity in aid of a few extra dollars

Published by James Alternation (not active) at 7:58pm on Wed 4th July 2007.

I do agree, truely independent venues are becoming a thing of rarity which is a same because I always think the independents are the most quirky. Having been to the O2 wireless this year for the first time I can safely say I wont be going back to visit the Superdrug bus, rayban bus, tyborg beer tents, O2 bus etc again.

Been listening to the new album a lot recently. Fav. tracks must be "Love your man, Love your woman" and "Dancing on the 4th floor" though it's all good.

Hope they get a few oldies in (at the back of the chapel in particular).

Published by simon_b (not active) at 10:21am on Thu 5th July 2007.

Killer klowns from Outer space is a good/bad movie...

IT is really scary until you see the "real" monster... but a clown in the sewers is pure horror.

Published by ababoonsass at 10:37am on Thu 5th July 2007.

I watched IT by myself when I was about 11 and it scared the living day-lights out of me!!! My mum didn't know I was watching it.... ;-)

I can't even really remember the whole film, but I know that it made me see clown faces in things like patterns on curtains and sofas for months afterwards!

I hope we can go tonight......

Ooh, they were dang good last night... much likey moreso with less acouistic guitar and the country stripped to a bare minimum... gives them a nice dark edge. Really had a good time and only had the one cigarette after the gig outside... result. Nice crew out too... I had fun and despite being very ill when I got home and sleeping like half an hour this morming... it was worth it. It's going to be a very restful weekend as I am just about good to collapse...

Yep, great night depsite Steve Adams forgetting my name.
"..yeah the Porltland with Hayley and... err.. whats his name..."
*sigh*
H. seemed to find this hillarious for some reason.

Haha. T'was nice that The Portland got a "shout-out" all the same, though. And to be fair, it must be a very hard name for STEVE Adams to remember...

I spoke to him afterwards and he didn't realise you were there!! He was "Oh my good god!" but we laughed.

Gave Davey Graham a lift home - haven't seen him in awhile, says he misses the Portland and will pop in... I thought he did a grand job with the sound considering he got the call at 6pm!!

I missed the first guy... liked his contribution to the last BFB song... wish I'd seen him now.

Yay! You were a bit of a BFB "virgin" beforehand, weren't you, Chelley?

Published by Jude 1 (not active) at 9:40am on Fri 6th July 2007.

Indeed I was. I thought they were excellent. I had "Love your man, love your woman" going round my head all night !!

How good was that? I'll have to apologise to Ciaron for singing so loud at the end. Me & Mia got a bit carried away. Dan Mangon was fantastic, great voice and the song about his Granddad at the end was really good. Those guys in the middle were priceless, gurn-a-thon much, still want that guys hat though. Plus I didn’t get drunk so I feel ok.

Was a good night, I really enjoyed it, hadn't seen BFB for a long time and they're a lot of fun live.

Gosh, it was a realy WAN fest last night, wasn't it?

Published by Jude 1 (not active) at 10:02am on Fri 6th July 2007.

yeah, a really good performance.... i too dig the more electric bit, i think it allows Jay to shine a bit more, and was mick kicking out some big beefy beats or what? Really good night, though i too missed dan mangan and wasn't really in teh mood for the moonies when i turned up

My first post smoking ban experience of a pub/venue and i thought it smelled really bad.... the bar stank of piss from the disgusting toilets and the gig room stank of farts and body odour, but i guess i wouldn't have really noticed when it smelt of smoke before.
The 'Smirting' was excellent though, i saw loads of people i knew outside having a ciggy and had a ball out there... ended up having 3 instead of 1 as i was so busy chatting to different groups :-)

*apologies to chelley who was looking after my beer in that period*

Did Jazz get his flight case OK? I left it over the gate next to bin... I did text him but he was probably hogging the crackpipe til the wee hours.

I'm enjoying this new, heavier BFB. At this rate they'll be doing thrash metal by album 10. "My lifestyle determines my deathstyle!!!" etc

Also, great article by Steve Adams in today's Guardian - "I wouldn't let Johnny Borrell do my photocopying."

Although it does rely on them actually *enjoying* their day jobs, doesn't it. I guess the reason a lot of people go for rock 'n' roll stardom is that they are in shitty jobs that they hate.

It's ok, James. I didn't mind looking after your beer. It gives me purpose LOL

We just don't get it when people are unpleasant.

This bit will be amusing to anyone who's been around when Mr. Adams has got a rock star strop on. :-)
