GROVE STREET FAMILIES – Taking the underground hardcore scene by storm, Southampton’s Grove Street Families show no sign of stopping any time soon. With a unique blend of thrash influenced hardcore punk and an aura of 90’s hip hop, Grove Street Families bring the reminiscent days of golden hardcore to the modern punk and metal world.
Brought up on a heady diet of ultraviolent video games and Suicidal Tendencies, the band were seemingly startled by how quickly people began to notice their brilliantly straightforward metallic hardcore attack, not to mention their hilarious lyrics. Grove Street Families swiftly transformed from a shared joke to zero bullshit, big brash metallic hardcore from the very top tier.
Breaking all the rules with their release ‘The Las Venturas EP’ on London’s Venn Records, and showcasing that they have many strings to their bow by crossing genres and making it work, the EP is an outrageous ode to everything between Madball and Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and Slayer.
Whether its playing sweaty hardcore club shows or major festival stages, Grove Street Families’ undeniably fun and raucous live show has gained them a loyal fanbase of both ‘old school’ and newer fans.
