Join the hundred plus people already trained in non violent direct action to address climate change with Extinction Rebellion Cambridge. We are holding another introduction to non-violent direct action - both theory and practice.

We will provide a briefing about Extinction Rebellion and our campaign to address the climate emergency, which began in Autumn last year with thousands of people joining together to take part in mass civil disobedience in the centre of London.

We will show you how you can join us for local actions in the run up to a sustained mass civil disobedience in London starting on April 15th to demand action on the climate emergency.

This training will cover how to de-escalate tense situations, how to interact with police, what to do if you get arrested and much more.

We will go through action essentials and practice of nonviolent techniques, and create affinity groups for people in the Cambridge area.

Note that affinity group members choose whether they take on non-arrestable or arrestable roles and both are equally important.

This is based upon PhD research on effective campaign mobilisation, and experience which so far has led Kings College University London, Cardiff University and Bristol University to agree to divest from fossil fuels.
