Howard Read, star of CBBC’s Little Howard’s Big Question and an acclaimed stand up comic, is headlining the first ever Custard Comedy night at the new Swavesey Venue on October 29th.
The night is part of the venue’s opening celebrations and also features Nathan Caton, Mike Wozniak and Kate Smurthwaite.
Read headlines comedy clubs all across the UK, as well as gigging in New York, Iceland, Dubai, Shanghai and in the French Alps. He's appeared on The World Stands Up on The Paramount Comedy Channel, ABC Australia and BBC America. In addition, he’s one half (and the other half) of Big Howard, Little Howard, the world's first human cartoon double-act. "Witty, clever, at times breathtakingly funny comedy” – The Sunday Times.
Nathan Caton is the star of Paramount’s The Nathan Caton Show and Little Miss Jocelyn. He’s a comic on the rise. 'Caton's a slick performer with an unbeatable stage attitude and the confident air of someone much more experienced. His powerhouse performance is enlivened with skilful characterisations of the people who occupy his entertainingly observational set.’ Chortle.
Mike Wozniak was an If.com (Perrier) Newcomer nominee 2008, Time Out New Act of the Year 2008, and is currently basking in the glow of a four star review from this year’s Fringe.
Compere for the evening is Kate Smurthwaite. “Charming, witty and with just a hint of a wicked glint in her eye, Kate Smurthwaite’s exuberant and affable personality is a little reminiscent of an excitable, slightly irresponsible head girl luring impressionable fourth formers into some illicit fun.
