Deafy’s Island Discs comes to CB2 at 8pm on October 22nd as part of Cambridge University’s Festival of Ideas.

When Radio 4 comedian and actor Steve Day became hearing impaired at the age of 18, he could no longer listen to his favourite tunes. Now, thanks to digital technology, after 25 years he can hear them again (after a fashion). Following the format of the long-running radio show Desert Island Discs, Steve takes a comic look at seven tracks that have resonance in his life, showing his fantastic light touch with an anecdote, superb turns of phrase and talent for unforced self-deprecation.

The show garnered superb reviews and a 5 star review at the Edinburgh Fringe.

“Steve Day has … created a delightful, personal show that is both laugh-out-loud funny, but also compelling and sensitive. A perfect festival show.” Chortle

Come along and hear what he can't.
