For a great family day out and the chance to see many of the world’s top water skiers in action, visit the European Championships which are being held in Thorpe, UK from 19 – 22 August 2010. You can spend a perfect day by the water’s edge watching top class water skiers jump the length of football pitches, slalom at speeds of 60mph and perform tricks that have to be seen to be believed.

This is the most high profile water ski tournament to be held in the UK for 20 years and will see 150 skiers from 30 countries taking to the water to do competition at the highest level for team and individual discipline glory.

A must for families and anyone with a passion for high-octane sports this exciting event is totally free to attend, with free parking and no hidden costs. The action will culminate with the finals on the 21st and 22nd when records will be broken and medals won. There’s no need to know anything about water skiing to enjoy it.

The British team features many European and World Champions, so come and cheer them on as they all battle it out for gold!

Marvel at Will Asher round the buoys, British Airforce; Seels, Asher and Sharman flying, James Earl trick to 10,000 points and see Nicole Arthur take on the best and show them how it’s done. Come and lend your support and you can be assured a warm welcome.

The skiers will also be spending some time on Autograph Island where you can get the opportunity to meet your heroes.
