Americana star Rachel Harrington returns to Acoustic Routes at CB2 in Norfolk St on Saturday September 11 with Lindisfarne founder member Rod Clements. Raised in Oregon, Rachel performs a mix of bluegrass, folk and old time gospel that has drawn comparisons with Gillian Welch. Slide guitarist Rod Clements wrote some of Lindisfarne’s best-loved and enduring songs including their Top Five hit “Meet Me On the Corner”.
Fran McGillivray and Mike Burke perform a unique acoustic mix of folk-blues and hauntingly original self-penned songs featuring Fran’s soulful vocals accompanied by her bass and flute combined with Mike’s intuitive and inventive guitar and resonator playing. They started playing folk, roots and blues venues in the late 1970s and appeared at the Cambridge Folk Festival in 1977. After years of playing in blues bands they returned to their roots in acoustic music in 2004 and are now getting rave reviews everywhere they play.
