Californian Rita Hosking sings original mountain roots music - soulful ballads and old time drive - with a voice that evokes awe towards the power of people and place. It is that voice that really grabs your attention –– a cross between the haunting delivery of Gillian Welch and the richness of Iris Dement. Rita's songs have been lauded for story and sense of place, and her performances praised for capturing the audience.
Emily Maguire is an independent singer-songwriter originally from London who recorded her critically acclaimed debut album "Stranger Place" on a farm in the Australian bush. In 2008 her second cd, "Keep Walking", was released through Universal in the UK and Ireland. The title track was playlisted on BBC Radio 2. Emily was asked to support Don McLean on his UK tour, performing at all the major concert halls in the country including the Royal Albert Hall in London.
