Four piece American folk/bluegrass group Harpeth Rising are coming to Acoustic Routes at CB2 in Norfolk Street on Saturday July 10 as part of their first UK tour. Also playing is popular singer/songwriter Liz Simcock.
Harpeth Rising is something new. Their sound, comprised of violin, banjo, cello and hand drums is both recognizable and undefinable. Now based in Nashville the quartet performs regularly throughout the United States, drawing audiences in with music that is somehow timeless and still utterly unique. They perform passionate, intricately arranged original songs with delicate harmonies and blazing instrumentals.
Liz Simcock is a great songwriter and gorgeous singer with a relaxed and endearing stage presence. Her songs show the influence of people like Clive Gregson and Christine Collister while still being fresh and original.
