Three Orchestral Dances by Maurice Duruflé (1902 - 1986),
i. Divertissement, ii. Danse lente, iii. Tambourin,
arranged for solo piano and performed by Ian de Massini.

Duruflé's ravishing harmonies and vast orchestral nuances rivalled even that of his contemporaries Debussy and Ravel and are stunningly manifested here in this, his sole orchestral masterpiece.

Ian de Massini, internationally-renowned interpreter and recording artist of the complete works of Duruflé, has exclusively realised this great triptych in the idiom of the virtuosic 20th-century French solo piano repertoire.

The work receives its first complete public performance at this concert.
