“Earth, Wind, Water and Fire” is the theme of Wicken’s annual festival over the bank holiday weekend. St Laurence’s church will come alive with flower arrangements based on the elements, complemented by the work of artists and craftspeople from all over the fens, while music will be provided by local musicians as well as members of the Ely Sinfonia, the area’s most prestigious orchestra. Light lunches and teas, including delicious sandwiches, home-made cakes and scones, will be available all day. Opening hours 10am to 6pm Saturday and Monday; 12noon to 6pm Sunday. Entry free – donations welcome.
