The Acoustic Routes concert on Saturday 30 June sees a welcome return for Barron Brady which combines the individual vocal and musical talents of Simon Barron and Rosalind Brady. The English song tradition is expressed strongly in their work, not only in their engaging arrangements of traditional songs with exemplary guitar, harmonium, melodeon, voices and harmonies, but also in the writing and arrangement of their self-penned songs with their emphasis on the folklore of UK and Devon and on countryside and rural issues.
Also performing is singer-songwriter Sara Spade who performs a uniquely diverse set of songs that flits through smoky jazz, gutsy syncopated blues and floating folk/pop with uncompromising, well-aimed lyrics.
Opening up is Lucy Bunce who mixes folk influences with an expressive vocal style underpinned by the beautiful resonance of the harp
