This month's Octopus Ride! features the magnificent eight-legged alt-rock behemoth that is Wild Hope. With Clara Kousah's ice-cool singing backed by Ben Henricksen's blistering, Bernard Butler-style wall of guitars, WH are one of our favourite local bands, and they should be especially gobsmacking in the cosy surroundings of the Globe.

There's more than able support from The Swings. Simon Lee Morgan has put together a great band (including WAN regular Anna on drums) to play his wry, catchy pop tunes, and we're looking forward very much to hearing them in action. As ever, it's entirely free to get in, and when the live music stops at 11 there'll be the uniquely eclectic sounds of DJ Steve Fenton to carry you through until 1am.
