With last year’s summer musical Annie The Musical a sell-out success, these annual events at the Corn Exchange have become one of the great highlights of the season. This year is no exception as we present the classic musical The King and I.
Based on Margaret Landon’s book Anna and The King of Siam, this Rodgers & Hammerstein musical is one of the most enduring stage shows ever and also a timeless film starring Yul Brynner & Deborah Kerr.
The musical tells the story of a nineteenth century British governess, Anna, who comes to Thailand as tutor to the children in the royal court but then discovers that her biggest job is enlightening the contrary King!
Featuring classic songs including Shall We Dance?, Getting to Know You and Whistle A Happy Tune the appeal of this show is universal.
