Big Day Out is a fun-packed day of free live entertainment on Parker's Piece with new attractions for 2007.

MAIN STAGE
Music on the main stage this year includes a headline set from the Cavern Beatles who faithfully recreate both the look and sound of the fab four. They they are joined by London-based band Thabani, with their mix of soul, afro and groove, described by Radio 1’s Giles Peterson as ‘ones to watch’; classic jazz, funk, soul and Latin sounds from Cambridge-based octet Capricorn; Cambridge’s longest running blues band, The Frigidaires plus the winners of the Red Stripe Band Competition, The Hot Bang with their eclectic mix of funk, folk and jazz and the winners of the Cambridge Under 18s Band Competition.

FRINGE TENT
Complementing the music on the Main Stage, the Fringe Tent offers an eclectic mix of music from a variety of acts including: a Capoeira (Brazilian 'fight-dancing') demonstration; contemporary dance workshops from Base Dance; the cream of local under 18s acoustic music from the Chypps team; leading local jazz vocalist Torben Rees; singer/songwriter Gil Karpas and more.

TEA TENT
As well as offering mouth watering refreshments, the Tea Tent offers a wide range of entertainment for all ages including: line dancing, afternoon tea dance, children’s storytelling, face-painting and puppet shows.

BBC 'BLAST'
'Blast on Tour’ is a unique, mobile e-learning studio. It comprises a TV studio, VT/audio editing area, digital workshop area and separate performance space.
Inside, industry professionals run free workshops and masterclasses for all levels of ability. Step inside and have a go at a range of activites including, art, music, writing, filmmaking, script writing, graffiti, dance, DJ-ing, radio production, photography and much more.

FILM
A FREE solar powered cinema tent will be screening short environmental films.

AND THERE’S MORE…
As well as the ever-popular French Market look out for the many walkabout characters including, the Men in Black and the Shed Man, enjoy the bar marquee, check out the local stalls, environmental organisations and traditional fair rides.

FIREWORKS
The day finishes in spectacular style with the Big Day Out Fireworks Display at 10.00pm.
